PC David Rathband's Blue Lamp Foundation raises money to support personnel of the Emergency Services who have been injured in the course of duty. We ask our supporters to show these people that we do care and that we greatly appreciate the work that they do every single day. We are aiming to raise our first million pounds within three years of being operational. This money will go directly to those who need it the most - the Police Officers, Fire Officers and the Ambulance Crews. Your donations will help us to offer financial aid, allowing those injured to carry on without the fear of being in financial difficulties. We are passionate about what we do and we hope that all of you can be too!

To be eligible to receive a single persons grant from PC David Rathband's Blue Lamp Foundation, you must be employed by the United Kingdom Police Force, Fire Service or Ambulance Service. You do not need to pay into the Blue lamp Foundation to receive a grant, although we are extremely grateful of any donations you give, however large or small.

Applications for financial support for outside organisations will be considered as long as the way in which the funds will be used fits in with our objects to support ambulance, fire or police personnel who are injured in the course of duty.

We believe in quality, which is why we offer financial support; with a guarantee that the grant will be made available within 14 days of a claim being declared successful.

 

PC David Rathband's Blue Lamp Foundation strives towards 100% effectiveness; this means that for every one pound donated, every penny will go directly to assisting injured emergency service men and women. So, we do exactly what we say we will do as your donations will directly support the injured men and women from the police force, fire service and ambulance service.

How we do this?
Just like all organisations we do incur running costs but we try our best to keep these at an absolute minimum, and the costs we do have, we aim to cover by the sale of our official merchandise. That means that the money you donate directly to us will go to the people who really need it and not to the running costs of the Foundation.

What do we spend your money on?
We spend every penny on the individuals that really need it most. Every police officer, paramedic or fire officer that is injured is eligible for a grant from us. This will provide practical support at a time when it is really going to make a difference, it may allow the individual to receive extra medical treatment, to pay for equipment or much needed adaptations or even pay for parking at hospital.
